"Pensive Lady"
This vintage painting was inspired by a black-and-white photograph that was taken in 1915. Having found my inspiration in the Library of Congress’s public domain of historical wedding photographs, I know very about the lady pictured. Her features and veil were illuminated to such a degree by the light behind her that only her gesture and hints of her emotion remained. She is a mystery, yet she so clearly reflects the way we often feel at the edge of many of life’s great epochs.
Art is a beautiful way to connect with the past, the unknown, our loved ones, and ourselves. This is partially why vintage-inspired art is one of my passions; it can connect people in a unique way across time and space. Thank you so very much for taking a look at my art. It means so much to me. I am sending my best wishes your way!
